WHO IS PERPETUAL MOTION?

Philip Rabalais

PHILIP RABALAIS

Philip Rabalais is an Iowa native with over a decade of filmmaking experience. His widely varied talents have helped shape countless projects—be it through the technical skills of cinematography, editing, or sound design, or the more social arts of producing and directing. As an advocate for the arts community here in Iowa, Rabalais is proud to work closely with talented fellow filmmakers, including on films that have been featured in the Locarno and Cannes film festivals. He received an MFA in Film and Video Production from the University of Iowa in 2020, and in 2024 he was named one of Filmmaker Magazine's "25 Faces of Independent Film".

Auden Lincoln-Vogel

AUDEN LINCOLN-VOGEL

Auden Lincoln-Vogel is a filmmaker who has been living and working in Iowa since 2018. With a background in animation and extensive experience directing live action films, Auden brings a broad skillset to Perpetual Motion, allowing for a fluid workflow between traditional filmmaking techniques and visual effects. His films have been screened at festivals including the Cannes Film Festival, Slamdance Film Festival, Ann Arbor Film Festival. He received an MFA in Film and Video Production from the University of Iowa in 2021, and in 2025 he was named one of Filmmaker Magazine's "25 Faces of Independent Film".

Arman Hodasefat

ARMAN HODASEFAT

Arman Hodasefat is a filmmaker originally from Iran whose work blends intimate character studies with bold visual storytelling. Now based in Iowa, he has directed several narrative films—including Golden Hour, Home No Return, Mammoth, and his ballet-inspired short Harmony. Passionate about working closely with actors, he approaches performance as a collaborative and exploratory process, often drawing on cross-disciplinary methods that merge cinema, movement, and theatrical practice. He works across both independent and industry-level projects. He received his MFA in Film and Video Production from the University of Iowa in 2025.
